WANTREPRENEURS
WANTREPRENEURS
A comedy script. A true story. A very long time coming.
When I was 12 years old, I played travel ball baseball in Southern California.
One weekend, I had a hockey tournament at the same time and couldn't make it to the baseball games.
So some kid named Kaleb Fossum subbed in for me and used my name on the roster. We'd never met before.
Turns out he wasn't that bad and we ended up going to the same middle school the next year.
17+ years later, we're best friends and live about 328 feet away from each other in Austin, TX.
Somewhere between throwing parties and playing sports in high school, we'd always do a few things:
Watch comedy movies
Riff on future brands we would make together
Prestige Worldwide? Na. Try Sports World Athletic Gear (SWAG).
So we came up with this idea of a comedy script about two best friends chasing their dreams, inspired by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg writing Superbad starting in their teens.
… But the story hadn't actually happened yet.
At least ours hadn't.
After highschool, Kaleb went on to play college football at both Washington State (House Call) and Nevada Reno then graduate with a business degree.
I dropped out of college. Failed a brand. Worked at an agency. Got fired at 21 and went solo since.
During COVID, we started a brand called The Uncommons and had a 60+ episode podcast called, Be Uncommon.
Around that time, we pitched Rob Dyrdek on a product we never actually created (kinda catfished him if we're being honest). It landed us on his podcast.
A few years later, we both wound up in Austin, TX.
Living our own separate stories as entrepreneurs working with brands while always bonding over the absurdities of trying to build something worthwhile.
Wantrepreneurs is one of those things worth while.
It's a comedy script in the making.
Based on two best friends who are tryna figure it out.
And keeping notes of all it.
Scripts, plots, arcs, etc in the works.
