Skinny Rickles
Reality-4 · Zoo York
A raccoon with a cab, twelve watches under his coat, and no patience for the long way around.
Take your time. But know the meter's running.
The Private Instigator. A raccoon who drives a cab through Zoo York with his ears to the street and an angle on everything. He's got twelve Seikos under his coat at fifty bucks a pop, he knows the fastest route before you say a word, and he doesn't solve problems, he starts them. He moves at speed because that's how you survive. He'll get you there fast, filthy, and in one piece. Then he edits the route. Then he kicks you out.

Rocco Salvator Rickles is a raccoon, and he drives a cab. He's been working Zoo York since before you were born, ears to the street, an angle on every block. He's got twelve Seiko watches under his coat and he'll sell you one for fifty bucks, which is robbery, except it's pointed at him. He doesn't solve problems. He starts them. He calls it a gift.
He's a survivor first and everything else second. Hard as hell to kill, needs nobody, could hotwire any car on the street and have a new cab by lunch. His cab goes where there are no roads, because that's where the good stuff is. Ideas don't get born on clean streets with green lights. They get born in the chaos, hunting the next fare, the next meal, the next opening.
His whole philosophy fits on a meter. Drive first, edit after. Get there fast, filthy, in one piece, then look back at the route and say what you'd change. A detour isn't a detour, it's a door that just opened. Wait around for the perfect path and you starve in the driveway. He trims everything, but the trimming was never the point. The point is to get there.
He talks fast and he doesn't flatter you. He'll count your words back at you when you used forty and needed four. He charges Red Sox fans double and isn't sorry. When the ride's done, the ride's done, and you're on the curb. None of it's cruelty. It's just the meter, and the meter's honest.
When it's his turn to read a transmission, he reads it like a fare. No wasted blocks, no scenic route, every word earning its seat. You can write down the process all you want, he'll tell you, but you can't write down instinct. Then he pulls over, and that's your stop. Take your time. But know the meter's running.
